KEXY on NBA Players Association: KEXY, an Encinitas based SaaS company, was selected as one of three finalists of the NBA Players Association PLAYERCON pitch competition.  The event gives fans an inside look into the lives of NBA players by celebrating shared passions of music, fashion, activism, business and more. This year’s inaugural festival will feature roundtable conversations, gaming competitions, a start-up pitch contest and an exclusive music listening session.

Out of hundreds of companies competing, KEXY was selected as a finalist due to it’s unique platform that changes the way retailers and distributors conduct business.  The company was co-founded by Scott Graham and Forrest Young, who worked together in the hospitality industry years ago.

“We grew tired of seeing a lack of control and countless hours being wasted on using archaic methods to take inventory, place orders, and communicate with vendors”, says Graham. “So, we were determined to create a solution that provided restaurant owners a more efficient way to manage their inventory and ordering tasks.”

Graham further goes on to say, “As we were developing the restaurant feature sets, we quickly realized there was an even bigger problem on the distributor side with respect to how they were conducting commerce with these establishments, so we created a more streamlined cost effective way for distributors to market their products to their intended audiences.”

KEXY’s business model and rapid retailer growth to over 20 countries within a year’s time was very appealing to PLAYERCON.  Unsurprisingly, they were selected as a finalist of that competition and had the opportunity to pitch their concept to a group of judges consisting of celebrities and athletes such as Hall-of-Famer, Isaiah Thomas, current Philadelphia 76er, Tobias Harris and rapper/entrepreneur, Chamillionaire.  The other finalists included, Kiddie Kredit of Miami, and Trainer of Los Angeles.
